The Aim of This Site
I get many requests for lessons or sax teacher recommendations via my Saxophone teaching pages, so I am setting up this directory to raise money for various charities and to help people find saxophone teachers. Please note we are now taking applications from teachers internationally, and from teachers giving online lessons, e.g. via Skype or Facetime.
Fundraising
All money generated by the listings is donated to charity. See Fundraising Information
Please visit Taming The Saxophone for loads of tutorials from beginner to advanced. Latest articles include Saxophone Intonation on how to play your saxophone in tune.
Listings

Who Is Pete Thomas?
Throughout the 80s I worked as a session musician, recording with Elton John, REM, Cliff Richard, Joe Jackson, Richard Thompson and many more.
From 1986 I switched to music composition and production, writing music for television as well as being involved in pop music production.
In 1991 I was commissioned to devise and present a saxophone instruction video for Virgin Music. This was part of the Jools Holland Music Makers series and has sold over20,000 copies worldwide - now available as a DVD and currently being translated into Chinese.
From 1996 - 2001 I was the Head of Jazz & Pop performance at the University of Southampton, where I taught the saxophone, and helped design the performance programme. I am now working as a full time composer of music for film and television, however I get so many enquiries about saxophone teachers that I decided to start this directory.
